Chandra Mohan, a veteran Telugu actor, died Saturday, November 11, from a heart arrest at Hyderabad’s Apollo Hospital. According to reports, the actor has been having heart-related procedures. His wife and two daughters survive him.
According to Apollo PRO Jagan, the 82-year-old actor died on Saturday morning about 9:57 a.m. at Apollo Hospital. According to ANI, the final farewell and last rites are scheduled to be in Hyderabad on Monday, November 13th.
The Telugu cinema industry mourned the death of the iconic actor.
After receiving the news, Megastar Chiranjeevi wrote an emotional message. “In my debut film, ‘Pranam Kharidu,’ he played a mute and delivered a fantastic performance. Our first meeting on that occasion developed into a terrific friendship and an even stronger bond. It’s a personal loss for me not to be close to him anymore. May his soul rest in peace, and please accept my heartfelt condolences to his family and admirers.”

Jr NTR, an RRR actor, paid respect to the late actor, calling his death premature and expressing his sympathies to his family. “It is very sad to see this Death of Chandramohan Garu, who has earned an exceptional reputation for himself by playing various roles in films for many decades,” he wrote in a post on X. My heartfelt sympathies go out to his family, and may his soul rest in peace.”

Mallampalli Chandrasekhar Rao, formerly known as Chandra Mohan, was born on May 23, 1943 in Pamidimukkala village in Andhra Pradesh’s Krishna area. In 1966, the actor began his career in Telugu film with Rangula Ratnam. Throughout his 932 picture career, he played the primary lead in 150 of them. He’s won two Nandi Awards and one Filmfare Award South.
He had appeared in several films, including “Shankarabharanam,” “Seethaamalakshmi,” “Padaharella Vayasu,” “Siri Siri Muvva,” and “Chandamama Raave.”
