The 54-year-old “Friends” actor Matthew Perry passed away on Friday, according to the autopsy results, which were made public. The cause of death was the acute effects of the anaesthetic ketamine.
Perry also drowned in “the heated end of his pool,” according to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner’s autopsy report, however this was only a contributing factor to his death on October 28 and was ruled an accident.

Perry was declared dead after being found unresponsive at his Pacific Palisades, Los Angeles, home. The following day, detectives completed the autopsy.
Although the actor had previously used narcotics, the story stated that he had been “reportedly clean for 19 months.” According to the coroner, he had been receiving ketamine infusion therapy for anxiety and depression; the last session was given to him one and a half weeks before to his passing.
According to the report, Perry had played pickleball in the beginning of the days and his assistant who always lives with perry noticed that his face down in the pool after returning from errands.
Assistant told to the investigator that Perry had not made any health complain and had not been sick and also had not shown evidence of recent drug or alcohol use. Perry was very open about discussing his hurdle with addiction dating back to his time on ‘Friends’ in the 1990s.
“I loved everything that is about the show but I was struggling with my addictions that only added to my sense of shame” he wrote.
