SSC GD Contstable 2023-2024: Syllabus

CBE (Computer-Based Examination):

This is an online test with objective-type questions, which are detailed in detail below in the article’s syllabus section. According to the SSC GD Exam Pattern, it is divided into four sections:

  • General Intelligence and Reasoning 
  • General Knowledge and Awareness
  • Basic Mathematics
  • English or  Hindi

All Objective-type questions are mostly made up of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). The Computer Based Examination (CBE) is exclusively offered in English and Hindi.

All hopefuls should be aware that the SSC has set a minimum cut-off score for the computer-based exam.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET):
After passing the CBE, candidates will be shortlisted to sit the Commission’s PET/ PST. Candidates who are found eligible based on height parameters during PET/ PST are allowed to participate in the PET (race), which is followed by a biometric/ technology-aided identification exam. Candidates’ eligibility for any age, height, and chest measurement relaxation is reviewed only when they qualify for the PET (race) before PST, which is administered by CAPFs PET/ PST Boards.

PET (Physical Efficiency Test): For this test, the following criteria must be met:

  •  Male candidates : 5 kilometers in 24 minutes
  • Female candidates: 1.6 kilometers in 8 ½ minutes

    Candidates from the Ladakh Region must meet the following conditions for the Race test:
  • Male: 1 mile in 6 ½ minutes
  • Female: 800m in 4 minutes
  • Pregnant women are not permitted to take this test.
  • Ex-servicemen candidates who are shortlisted in the CBE must only present in the PET/PST stage to have their chest, height, and weight measured. They are not needed to take the PET. They must, however, pass the Detailed Medical Examination (DME).

PST (Physical Standard Test): The physical criteria of the candidates are assessed in this test based on three factors:
