India vs. New Zealand, ICC World Cup 1st semi-final: Virat Kohli expressed his emotions after scoring his 50th ODI ton, saying that it all feels like a dream and is too fantastic to be real.
India’s star batter Virat Kohli reached another milestone against New Zealand on Wednesday at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium. Virat Kohli broke the record of renowned Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar with his 50th century in the One Day International (ODI) format of the game. He is now the highest ton-scoring hitter in ODI cricket. During the mid-innings break, Virat Kohli expressed his emotions, saying that everything feels like a dream and is too fantastic to be true.
“I’m feeling (pauses).” Once again, the wonderful man congratulated me. All of this feels unreal to me, like a dream. “It’s too good to be true,” Virat Kohli said, according to PTI. “I never imagined coming here in my career; it’s a semifinal, and I’m really grateful that everything came together.

What a day to set such a record, as India is in the midst of a crucial World Cup semi-final against New Zealand, and icon Sachin Tendulkar was present to witness the occasion. Virat Kohli paid tribute to Sachin Tendulkar after breaking his personal record.

Despite his record-breaking innings, Virat Kohli remains focused and understands that the primary goal is for India to win. “The most important thing for me is that my team wins. This tournament, I’ve been assigned a role and am attempting to dive deep. “I played the role so that the guys around me could come and express themselves,” added Kohli, who has 711 runs to his name, including 355 fifties.
“That’s the key to consistency – play according to the situation and play for the team,” he said.
Virat Kohli tried not to get too comfortable after India scored 397 runs while playing first against New Zealand, saying, “In a big game, anything above 330 you are happy with, so to get to 400 is amazing.”

On Diwali, the actor wore an ethnic grey suit while India played a world cup match in Bengaluru. A video of Anushka and Virat strolling inside a hotel foyer had circulated a few days previously. After dating for several years, Anushka and Virat married in an intimate wedding in Italy in 2017. Their daughter Vamika was born on January 2021.
In a 2019 interview with Filmfare, Anushka discussed how pregnancy rumors sometimes keep filmmakers away. “I’m fortunate this hasn’t happened,” Anushka said. It is possible. When an actress marries, the first question on everyone’s mind is, ‘Is she pregnant?’ It’s like, ‘ Kya Shaadi karega ? (Will he marry or not)?’ when she’s dating. It’s rough. You should let people live their lives. What’s the point of rushing? Put someone in a position where they are forced to clarify unnecessarily.”
